PURPOSE: An auxiliary oil pump for a vehicle is provided to reduce the pumping loss of a main oil pump by designing to decrease the volume of the main oil pump operated in driving an engine all the time and to prevent the breakage of an oil filter by restricting excessive oil pressure at the low temperature and high speed. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary oil pump for a vehicle is composed of a pump body(320) installed in parallel to a main oil pump(20) between an oil pan(10) and a main oil passage(40) to suck in and forcibly send the engine oil; an input shaft(332) for receiving rotary power from the driving shaft of the main oil pump and inputting the rotary power into a housing(310); and a clutch unit(340) for selectively intermitting the transmission of rotary power between the input shaft and the driving shaft of the pump body to the hydraulic pressure of the main oil passage connected to the discharge side of the main oil pump in the housing. 본 발명은 자동차용 보조 오일 펌프에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 메인 오일 펌프의 구동시 메인 오일 통로 내의 유압상태가 일정수준 미만의 저압상태일 경우, 펌프 본체가 메인 오일 펌프의 구동력을 입력축과 클러치부를 통해 전달받아 메인 오일 펌프와는 별도로 추가적인 펌핑작동을 수행하도록 구성됨으로써, 메인 오일 펌프의 용량을 줄여 설계할 수 있고, 이를 통해 오일의 저온 및 엔진의 고속 회전상태에서 발생되던 과도한 오일 압력의 형성을 방지할 수 있으며, 고온 저속시에는 충분한 오일 압력을 확보할 수 있도록 해주는 자동차용 보조 오일 펌프에 관한 것이다.
