Summary: | PURPOSE: A device and a method for suppressing overshooting of the rotational speed of an internal combustion engine are provided to simply suppress overshooting of the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION: A device for suppressing overshooting of the rotational speed of an internal combustion engine(1) has a starting and charging device(2) connected to a crankshaft(1A) of the internal combustion engine and a control device(4) controlling the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine executing drive operation control and brake operation control for the starting and charging device. The starting and charging device operates as a starting device starting the internal combustion engine in a starting state of the internal combustion engine, and operating as a charging device and executing the charging of a battery(6) after the starting of the internal combustion engine is completed. The control device monitors the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine and executes decision of self-ignition of the internal combustion engine when one of the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine and a rate of change of the rotational speed exceeds a predetermined value, in starting the internal combustion engine, and the control device executes conversion from drive operation control for the starting charging device to brake operation control. |
