PURPOSE: A method for collecting flow traffic data using interface indexes is provided to save the capacity of a storage unit and shorten the time of analysis by selectively collecting only the flow traffic data related to a specific network. CONSTITUTION: A network structure for selectively collecting flow traffic data comprises a traffic filtering unit(20). The traffic filtering unit(20) searches for the interface information of a flow traffic UDP(User Datagram Protocol) packet transmitted to a flow traffic collection unit(14) from a router(12) and stores the flow traffic data for an appointed interface index. The traffic filtering unit(20) is implemented and executed independently as a hardware equipment. Also the traffic filtering unit(20) can be embodied in the form of software and can execute a filtering function. 본 발명의 플로우 트래픽 데이터 수집 방법은 라우터에서 수집되어 데이터 수집 장치로 전송되는 데이터 패킷 내역 중 라우터의 인터페이스 인덱스 정보를 검색하는 제 1단계, 제 1단계에서 검색된 인터페이스 인덱스 정보 중 기 지정된 적어도 하나의 인터페이스 인덱스가 포함되었는지 여부를 판단하는 제 2단계 및 기 지정된 인터페이스 인덱스가 포함된 데이터 패킷만을 수집하는 제 3단계를 포함한다. 이처럼, 라우터에서 수집 장치로 전송되는 UDP 패킷의 플로우 내역 중 인터페이스 정보를 검색하여 원하는 플로우 트래픽 데이터만을 선택적으로 수집할 수 있도록 함으로써 꼭 필요한 정보만을 수집할 수 있어 정보 분석을 위한 시간을 절약하고 저장 용량을 줄일 수 있다.
