Summary:PURPOSE: An optical data recording medium, a manufacturing method therefor and a method for clamping the optical data recording medium are provided to have surface protrusions for protecting a transparent protective layer and reducing a load on a motor during disc rotation and apply a higher disc clamping force to the optical data recording medium. CONSTITUTION: A disc-shaped optical data recording medium(110) has a signal recording layer(103) for reading and writing data using light and a transparent protective layer(102) with 10μm to 200μm thickness. The transparent protective layer(102) is disposed over the signal recording layer(103). The disc-shaped optical data recording medium(110) includes a protrusion(100). The protrusion(100) is projected from the surface of the transparent protective layer(102) on a light-incidence surface side to which light is emitted to the signal recording layer(103). The protrusion(100) is disposed in an area between a center hole(101) and a clamping area(CA) where the disc-shaped optical data recording medium(110) is held when reading and writing the data in the signal recording layer(103).
