Summary:PURPOSE: Provided is a donor element adapted for use in making an OLED(Organic Light-Emitting Diode) device. CONSTITUTION: A donor element(10) comprises a donor support substrate(14), a light-absorbing layer(16) disposed over the substrate which, in response to light, produces heat, an emissive layer(18) disposed over the light-absorbing layer, and a hole-transporting layer disposed over the emissive layer. When the donor element(10) is positioned in a transfer relationship with the organic light-emitting diode device and when light is absorbed by the light-absorbing layer, heat is produced that causes the vaporization transfer across a gap of hole-transporting materials and emissive materials to the organic light-emitting diode device.
