PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling air pressure of a tire is provided to enable comfortable and safe traveling by automatically controlling the air pressure of the tire according to the traveling conditions of the vehicle and by maintaining the optimum air pressure state. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling air pressure of a tire(120) includes a pressure sensor(300) installed between the tire and a tire rim(140), to detect the inner air pressure of the tire; a control unit(200) installed to the upper surface of the tire rim, to output a control signal according to the input value of the pressure sensor; a first solenoid valve(400) installed on a side of the tire rim, to take out the inner air of the tire to the outside according to the output of the control unit; an air curtain(610) installed to the outer periphery of the tire rim; a second solenoid valve(500) installed to the upper part of the air curtain, to take out the inner air pressure of the air curtain to the inside of the tire according to the output of the control unit; and a heating unit(600) installed to the outer surface of the tire rim, to heat the inside of the air curtain. The air curtain has a hot wire(630) heating the inner air of the tire. 본 발명은 타이어의 공기압 조절장치에 관할 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 차량의 주행조건에 따라 자동적으로 타이어의 공기압을 조절하고, 최적의 상태로 타이어 공기압을 유지하여 쾌적하고 안전한 주행이 가능하도록 하는 타이어의 공기압 조절장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 차량의 주행조건에 따라 자동적으로 타이어의 공기압을 조절하고, 최적의 상태로 타이어 공기압을 유지하여 쾌적하고 안전한 주행이 가능하도록 하는 타이어의 공기압 조절장치를 제공한다.
