Summary: | PURPOSE: A method of catalytic dehydrogenation of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons using carbon dioxide as an oxidant is provided to decrease the reaction temperature, to improve the hydrocarbon conversion and to save the energy. CONSTITUTION: The method of catalytic dehydrogenation of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons is carried out in the presence of a catalyst and carbon dioxide as an oxidant. The method is characterized in that the catalyst is a heterogeneous solid catalyst containing vanadium(V) as well as iron(Fe) as active metals. Further, the heterogeneous solid catalyst is a supported catalyst consisting of a metal oxide supported by a carrier having a large surface area, or a composite composed of a carrier and a metal oxide. |
