PURPOSE: A device for switching an AAL(ATM Adaptation Layer) 2 is provided to use a memory mapping technique, and to implement the device in hardware, thereby reducing delay time while switching the AAL 2. CONSTITUTION: A cell disassembler(620) inputs an ATM cell to disassemble a payload of the ATM cell to a CPS packet, and converts a header of the CPS packet and a header of the ATM cell into a certain type referring to a lookup table block. A header converter(630) inputs the CPS packet, and converts the CPS packet so that the header of the CPS packet indicates a next path, in reference to the lookup table block. A storage(660) stores the lookup table block.
