PURPOSE: A drum type washer is provided to improve cleaning efficiency of the laundry by filtering out impurities from washing water circulated to the upper side of a tub or discharged to the outside by installing a waste yarn-collecting unit on a side of a drainage pump. CONSTITUTION: A drum type washer comprises a tub installed inside a cabinet; a drum rotatably installed inside the tub, to wash the laundry; a drainage pump pumping washing water drained from the tube and circulating the pumped washing water to the inside of the tube or discharging the pumped washing water to the outside; and a waste thread-collecting unit filtering out waste yarn or nap from washing water circulated or discharged by the drainage pump. The waste yarn-collecting unit comprises a filter body(75) detachably installed to a case(73) and collecting holes(75a) formed on both sides of the filter body, to filter out waster yarn and nap from the washing water. Thus, washing performance is improved. 본 발명은 드럼세탁기에 관한 것으로서, 특히 세탁수로부터 실밥 및 보푸라기 등을 걸러줌으로 세탁성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 드럼세탁기의 펌프케이싱 및 필터구조에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 드럼세탁기는 캐비닛 내측에 설치된 터브와, 상기 터브 내측에 회전 가능하게 설치되어 세탁물을 세탁하는 드럼과, 상기 터브에서 배수되는 세탁수를 펌핑하여 상기 터브 내측으로 순환시키거나 외부로 배출시키는 배수펌프와, 상기 배수펌프에 의해 배출되는 세탁수로부터 실밥이나 보푸라기를 걸러주는 실밥채집수단으로 구성되어 세탁수로부터 실밥 및 보푸라기 등의 이물질을 걸러줌으로 세탁성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 이점이 있다.
