Summary:PURPOSE: An array substrate for an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve an aperture ratio by widening an interval between a common electrode and a pixel electrode, minimize color shift, and widen an area having no gray scale inversion, thereby realizing an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display having a wide view angle. CONSTITUTION: Gate lines(112) and data lines(124) vertically cross each other on a substrate for defining a pixel area(P). A thin film transistor is formed at a point where the gate lines and the data lines cross each other. A pixel electrode(130) is made up of a first horizontal part(130a) extended in one direction following a storage line on the storage line, a first vertical part(130b) and a second vertical part(130c) vertically extended from the first horizontal part to both sides of the pixel area, and a plurality of second horizontal parts(130d) formed in zigzags for connecting the first vertical part and the second vertical part. A common electrode(117) is formed in zigzags, parallel separated from the pixel electrode at a certain interval.
