Summary:PURPOSE: An LCD device is provided to prevent cross talk and flicker from occurring in spite of low power consumption and display failure caused by extending wiring by securing a sufficient pitch between connection wiring even when the pixels are made highly colorful. CONSTITUTION: An LCD device(1) is composed of an array substrate(100), an opposite substrate(200) arranged opposite to the array substrate, and a liquid crystal layer placed between the array substrate and the opposite substrate. The array substrate includes a scanning line driving circuit(150), a signal line switching circuit(170), plural scanning lines, plural signal lines, pixel TFTs(Thin Film Transistors)(110), pixel electrodes(120), and auxiliary capacitance elements(130a,130b). Concerning a video signal corresponding to each signal line, the signal line driving IC serially outputs a video signal to each signal line group into which the signal line is divided by a predetermined number, and the signal line switching circuit outputs the video signal by switching to all the signal lines in each signal line group within a single horizontal scanning period. The signal line driving IC is packaged on a flexible wiring board and electrically connected with an array board, and the signal line switching circuit is formed integrally with the array board. 본 발명에 있어서, 신호선 구동회로는, 임의의 화소전극에 대해 수평주사방향으로 인접하는 양측의 화소전극에 인가되는 영상신호의 극성이 서로 다른 것으로 하고, 또 그 임의의 화소전극에 대해 수직주사방향으로 인접하는 양측의 화소전극에 인가되는 영상신호의 극성이 서로 다르도록 한다. 복수의 신호선을 하나의 신호선군이 소정수의 신호선으로 이루어진 복수의 신호선군으로 구분했을 때의 신호선군마다 신호선 구동용 IC는 영상신호를 출력하고, 신호선 절환회로는 1수평주사기간내에 각 신호선군에서의 모든 신호선을 순차적으로 절환한다. 신호선 구동용 IC는 플렉시블 배선기판상에 실장되고, 플렉시블 배선기판은 어레이기판의 접속단자에 전기적으로 접속된다. 신호선 절환회로는 화소TFT와 동일한 제조공정으로 어레이기판상에 일체적으로 형성된다.
