PURPOSE: A method of sampling traffic based on flow on an IP network is provided to perform sampling on the basis of a flow when sampling traffic on the IP network, thereby reducing the amount of data while collecting traffic data and maintaining reliability on a flow recorder. CONSTITUTION: When a UDP packet type of flow data is transmitted from a router(100), a collecting server stores the flow data in file type(110). The collecting server extracts flow record information only from the stored flow data file, and creates a new file(120). The collecting server selects a flow record in the ratio of N:1 by using the extracted flow record information, and performs a sampling process(130). The collecting server performs the sampling process based on a flow. 본 발명은 IP 네트워크에서 트래픽에 대한 표본화를 행할 때 플로우기반으로 표본화를 행할 수 있도록 하는 IP 네트워크에서 플로우에 기반한 트래픽 표본화 방법에 관한 것으로서, 인터넷 트래픽에 대한 상세보고를 행하는 넷플로우 기능을 갖춘 라우터의 운용자가 상기 라우터를 제어하여 특정 인터페이스 간의 넷플로우 기능을 가동시키면, 상기 라우터가 자신을 경유하는 트래픽에 대해 UDP(User Datagram Protocol) 패킷 형태의 플로우 데이터를 생성하여 플로우 기반의 트래픽을 수행하는 수집서버로 전송하고, 상기 수집서버가 상기 플로우 데이터로부터 플로우 레코드를 추출하여 추출된 플로우 레코드에 대해 표본화를 행하도록 구성된 것을 특징으로 한다. 이러한 본 발명은, 인터넷 트래픽의 데이터 수집시 데이터의 양을 현격히 줄일 수 있으면서도 플로우의 정의에 기반한 표본화된 트래픽을 확보함으로서, 플로우 레코더의 신뢰성을 유지할 수 있다는 효과가 있다.
