Summary:PURPOSE: An organic light-emitting diode is provided to obtain more balanced carrier recombination and to achieve higher luminance efficiency by forming an interface layer between a hole-transporting layer and a light-emitting layer. CONSTITUTION: An organic light-emitting diode(200) includes an interface layer(204). The interface layer(204) is formed over an organic hole-transporting layer(203). The range of thickness of the interface layer(204) is between 0.5 to 5 nm. A light-emitting layer(205) is formed over the interface layer(204), and an electron-transporting layer(206) is formed over the light-emitting layer(205). Voltage/current source(208) generates an electric potential between a light-transmissive anode(202) and a cathode(207), such that anode(202) is at a more positive potential with respect to the cathode(207). Electrical conductors(20) connect the anode(202) and the cathode(207) to the voltage/current source(208). 본 발명은 기판, 애노드, 캐쏘드, 및 정공 수송층, 계면층, 발광층 및 전자 수송층을 순서대로 포함하고 상기 애노드와 캐쏘드 사이에 배치되는 전기발광 매체를 포함하는 유기 발광 장치에 관한 것이다. 상기 계면층은, 정공 수송층의 유기 화합물보다 이온화 전위가 크고 발광층의 유기 화합물보다 에너지 대역폭이 크거나 동일한 화합물을 포함한다. 상기 계면층의 두께는 0.lnm 내지 5nm이다. 상기 계면층으로 인해 발광층에서의 보다 균형된 운반자 재결합이 제공되고, 보다 높은 휘도 효율이 달성된다.
