PURPOSE: An ATM(Automatic Teller Machine) management system is provided to store an actual currency value in a mobile terminal to which an optical transceiver is attached, so as to exchange the currency value with the ATM or other mobile terminal in real time. CONSTITUTION: A user of a mobile terminal(830A) inputs a password and selects a withdrawal type. After the withdrawal type is selected, card information built in the mobile terminal(830A) is transmitted to an ATM(840A) in optical signals, and the user of the mobile terminal(830A) enters a withdrawal amount. If withdrawal in cash is selected as the withdrawal type, the desired amount of cash is withdrew by interworking with the card information received to the ATM(840A). If electronic cash is selected, the ATM(840A) transmits a currency value corresponding to the entered amount to the mobile terminal(830A) for transfer. And the transferred electronic cash is exchanged with the other mobile terminal(830B). ATM 관리 시스템은 광송수신기를 내장한 개인 휴대단말기에 실제 화폐가치를 저장하여 ATM과 실시간으로 화폐의 가치를 주고받을 수 있도록 하기 위한 것이다. 본 발명은 휴대폰이나 PDA등 광송수신기를 내장한 개인 휴대단말기와 ATM 사이에 실시간으로 화폐의 가치를 주고 받아 휴대단말기에 저장하고, 일반상점등에서 그 휴대단말기에 저장된 화폐가치를 판매자의 휴대단말기나 광수신기가 부착된 카드리더기로 이전시킬 수 있도록 구성된다. 따라서, 본 발명은 현금이나 카드를 소지하지 않아도 휴대단말기를 현금처럼 사용할 수 있어, 보다 안전하고 신뢰성있는 신용거래를 도모할 수 있는 효과를 제공한다.
