PURPOSE: A swing type tailgate hinge having a checker function is provided to prevent accidents caused by a tailgate hinge by reducing the operating speed of a gate and to prevent transformation of a car body by limiting the maximum opening angle of a tailgate. CONSTITUTION: The swing type tailgate hinge having a checker function comprises: a body bracket(11) fixed to a body panel and provided with a checker member(110) having many bending parts(111); and a gate bracket(12) installed to a tailgate, connected to the body bracket(11) by a hinge pin(13), and provided with a soft roller(120) installed by a roller pin(121) and adhered closely to the bending part(111) of the checker member(110) to rotate along the bending part(111). 본 발명은 체커기능을 갖는 스윙타입 테일게이트 힌지에 관한 것으로서, 그 목적은 좌, 우로 회동되는 스윙타입 테일게이트의 힌지에 테일게이트가 서서히 움직이도록 하는 체커기능을 부여하여 게이트의 개폐속도를 줄임으로써 테일게이트 힌지에 의해 발생되던 안전사고를 미연에 방지하는데 있다. 상기의 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명은, 차체 후방의 바디패널에 바디브래킷이 고정되고, 테일게이트에는 게이트브래킷이 설치되어 상기 바디브래킷에 게이트브래킷이 힌지핀을 매개로 회동 가능하게 연결되도록 된 스윙타입 테일게이트 힌지에 있어서, 상기 바디브래킷에는 힌지핀의 연장선상의 일측에 외곽으로 다수의 굴곡부를 갖는 체커부재가 설치되고, 상기 게이트브래킷에는 체커부재의 굴곡부와 밀착되어 그 굴곡부를 따라 회전 가능하도록 연질의 롤러가 롤러핀을 통해 설치된 것이다.
