Summary:PURPOSE: A master carrier for magnetic transfer, a magnetic transfer method, and a method for manufacturing the master carrier for magnetic transfer are provided to perform a favorable magnetic transfer to a perpendicular magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION: A surface of a convex part of a substrate(3a) having a pattern-shape convex part employs a soft magnetic layer(3b) of which height is d and width is w. A soft magnetic layer magnetically combined with the soft magnetic layer of the surface of the convex part and installed at the concave part between the convex part of the substrate. Therefore, magnetic transfer is preformed by applying magnetic field for transfer facing toward the soft magnetic layer at the substrate of the master carrier with contacting the convex part formed with the soft magnetic layer of the master carrier and a magnetic recording surface of a magnetic recording medium. 수직자기기록매체에 대하여 양호한 자기전사를 행한다. 전사해야 할 정보에 따른 패턴형상의 볼록부를 보유하는 기판(3a)의 볼록부 표면에 높이(d), 트랙방향 폭(w)의 연자성층을 구비하고, 또한 기판(3a)의 볼록부 사이의 오목부에 볼록부 표면의 연자성층과 자기적으로 결합하는 연자성층을 구비하는 마스터담체(3)를 사용하고, 상기 마스터담체(3)의 연자성층(3b)으로 이루어지는 볼록부와 자기기록매체(2)의 자기기록면(2b)을 밀착시킨 상태에서, 마스터담체(3)의 기판(3a)측에서 연자성층(3b)으로 향하는 전사용 자계(Hdu)를 인가하여 자기전사를 행한다.
