Summary: | PURPOSE: Provided are an economic polymer carrier having improved structure for effectively removing a malodor generated at industrial site or organic material of wastewater disposal site, a method for producing the same, and use thereof. CONSTITUTION: The polymer carrier has a surface modified by treating a polymer foam of open cell with plasma. The polymer foam is a film or particle formed from a material selected from the group consisting of polyurethane, polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC(polyvinyl chloride), polystyrene, and PMMA(polymethyl methacrylate). The polymer carrier is produced by the steps of (i) preparing a polymer foam having predetermined size; (ii) pretreating the polymer foam by chemical oxidation; and (iii) plasma treating the oxidized polymer foam with oxygen and/or argon-oxygen. |
