Summary:PURPOSE: Provided are a novel polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), its production method, a charge control agent, a toner binder, an electrostatic latent image developing toner, an image forming method, and an image forming apparatus which are employed for electrophotography, electrostatic recording, electrostatic printing of such as a copying apparatus, a printer, a facsimile and the like. CONSTITUTION: The polyhydroxyalkanoate comprises units having the following chemical formulas(1) and (2), and at least one selected from four units having the following formulas(3), (4), (5) and (6), in a molecule. In the formula 1, R is a substituent optionally selected from H, a halogen atom, CN, NO2, COOR', SO2R", CH3, C2H5, CH3CH2CH2, (CH3)2CH and (CH3)3C (R' is H, Na, K, CH3 or C2H5; and R" is OH, ONa, OK, a halogen atom, OCH3 or OC2H5); and x is at least one optional integer value within the range shown in the formula 1; in the formula 2, R is a substituent optionally selected from H, a halogen atom, CN, NO2, COOR', SO2R", CH3, C2H5, CH3CH2CH2, (CH3)2CH and (CH3)3C (R' is H, Na, K, CH3 or C2H5; and R" is OH, ONa, OK, a halogen atom, OCH3 or OC2H5); and x is at least one optional integer value within the range shown in the formula 2. Other formulas are described in the description. 본 발명은 높은 반응성이 기대되는 티오에테르를 가진 유닛을 포함하는 신규 PHA와 그 제조방법을 제공한다. 본 발명은 또한 화학식 (1)(2)로 표시되는 유닛과 화학식(3)(4)(5)(6)으로 표시되는 4종류의 유닛 중 적어도 1종류의 유닛을 가진 폴리히드록시알카노에이트(PHA); 그 제조방법; PHA를 함유하는 하전제어제; 이 하전제어제를 함유하는 토너바인더; 정전하상현상토너; 이 정전하상현상토너를 사용한 화상형성방법 및 화상형성장치를 제공한다.
