Summary:PURPOSE: To provide a slip limiting device capable of reconciling operability and an overheat measure by ensuring the overheat measure of torque converter hydraulic fluid, without impairing the operability. CONSTITUTION: A slip limit of the torque converter, based on a normal region pattern, as shown in Fig (a), is performed except during high temperature times. In this case, a thick solid line, a thick broken line, a thin solid line and a thin broken line show a lockup starting line, a lockup releasing line, a slip control starting line and a slip control releasing line, respectively, and an L/U, an S/L and a figure show a lockup region, a slip control region and a speed gear stage, respectively. At rise in oil temperature, although the rise in the oil temperature is suppressed by reducing slip rotation of the torque converter by the slip limit, based on a pattern for enlarging the slip control region to the engine high load side as shown in Fig. (b) hatched region. Because vibration will not be generated, even in the high load state due to the enlargement of the slip control region, operability will not be deteriorated also. When the oil temperature cannot be lowered even by the above procedure, the oil temperature is surely lowered by further reducing slip rotation of the torque converter by the slip limit, based on a pattern for making the enlarged region as the lockup region, as shown in Fig. (c). 엔진의 저부하 운전영역으로 토크컨버터의 입력요소와 출력요소간의 슬립회권을 감소시키는 것에 의한 슬립 제한 제어 또는 슬립회전을 배제하기 위한 로크업 제어을 행하여 고온 상태에서 토크컨버터의 슬립을 제한하기 위한 장치가 개선된다. 본 발명에서의 슬립제어 영역은, 토크컨버터 작동유의 온도가 설정온도보다 낮지 않을 때 엔진의 고부하 운전영역으로 확장된다.
