Summary:PURPOSE: To provide an handover control method and device that can enhance the utilizing efficiency of a network resource. CONSTITUTION: The system adopting the handover control method and device selects any method corresponding to an overlap zone resident time of a mobile station among three predetermined methods; a gateway handover method, a base station controller path extension handover method, and a radio link path extension handover method in the ranking according to the longer order of the overlap zone resident time of the mobile station to change the handover method depending on the overlap zone resident time for the mobile station. When the gateway handover method or the base station controller path extension handover method is selected, a path minimizing the load imposed on the system among handover paths able to be taken by the selected system is selected and set. 핸드오버 이동국의 중복영역 체재 시간에 근거한 서열이 중복영역 체재 시간이 긴 순서로 게이트웨이 핸드오버 방식, 기지국 제어기 패스 연장 핸드오버 방식, 무선 링크 패스 연장 핸드오버 방식으로 미리 정해진 3 방식 중에서 핸드오버 이동국의 중복영역 체재 시간에 대응한 어느 한 방식을 선택함으로써, 핸드오버 이동국의 중복영역 체재 시간에 따라 핸드오버 방식을 바꾼다. 게이트웨이 핸드오버 방식 혹은 기지국 제어기 패스 연장 핸드오버 방식이 선택될 경우에는, 선택된 방식에 있어서 선택할 수 있는 핸드오버 패스 중에서 시스템에 걸리는 부하가 최소로 되는 핸드오버 패스를 선택하여 설정한다.
