PURPOSE: A compressor diagnostic system is provided to diagnose an air conditioner or a refrigerator accurately, and to cut down expense by preventing wrong detection with monitoring the state of the motor protector. CONSTITUTION: A refrigeration/air conditioning system includes a compressor(10) having a motor protector(54) which stops the motor of the compressor in sensing the case except for specification condition. A diagnostic system of the refrigeration/air conditioning system monitors the state of the motor protector, and includes a logic circuit diagnosing the type of problem the compressor or the system based on operation time and the state of the motor related to time and condition of the motor protector. The diagnostic system has a discharge pressure sensor or a condenser temperature sensor, an ambient air sensor and a voltage sensor. The sensors provide information to the diagnostic system to detect position of the system fault. 압축기는 특정 상태 외를 감지하는 경우 압축기 모터가 멈추는 모터 프로텍터를 포함한다. 진단 시스템은 모터 프로텍터 상태를 모니터한다. 진단 시스템은 압축기가 모터 프로텍터의 시간 및 상태와 관련하여 모터 운전 시간 및 상태에 기초하여 갖추고 있는 문제점의 유형을 진단하는 논리 회로를 포함한다.
