Summary:PURPOSE: A solid state display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to use a metal as a substrate by decreasing a plasticity temperature when forming a dielectric. CONSTITUTION: An insulating layer(8) is formed on a metal substrate(1). Then, a number of metal electrodes(2) are formed on defined portions of the insulating layer(8). Glass ceramics mixed with a filling agent and a glass are deposited. At this time, the plasticity temperature of the glass ceramics is 700 deg.C or lower. Then, a dielectric(3) is formed by a plasticity step. A planarization layer(4), a fluorescent body(5) and another dielectric(6) are sequentially formed on the entire surface of the resultant structure. Then, an ITO electrode(7) is formed on the dielectric(6).
