PURPOSE: A gas purification unit for purifying a gas before the gas is dispensed from a liquefied gas container such as a cylinder is provided. CONSTITUTION: The gas purification unit(202) suitable for purifying a gas before the gas is dispensed from a liquefied gas container having a valve assembly for discharging gas from the container is characterized in that the unit(202) comprises a hollow body(204) having a first end(206) and a second end(208) and being at least partially filled between the ends with gas purifying material(214); a gas outlet(210) provided at the first end(206) of the body and adapted for connection to the valve assembly so that the body extends into the container; and gas inlet means(212) permitting of gas flow from the container to the second end(208) of the body, wherein the second end(208) of the body is closed and the gas inlet means(212) comprises conduit means having a mouth(212) at or near the first end(206) of the body, wherein the conduit means is within the body(204) of the unit, wherein the conduit means is devoid of gas purifying material(214), wherein the unit(202) further comprises a closable material filling port(222) by means of which the body(204) is filled with gas purifying material(214), wherein the unit(202) is capable of purifying gas to a high purity, wherein the purifying material(214) is magnesium chloride on an amorphous carbon support, wherein the gas to be purified is corrosive, wherein the gas to be purified is hydrogen chloride, and wherein the unit(202) further comprises at least one filter(220) for particulate material. 가스는 장치(202)의 가스 배출구(220) 또는 그 근처에 있는 입구(212)를 경유하여 용기 내에 있는 정화 장치(202)로 인도된다. 이러한 특징은 액화 가스를 분배하는 문제를 발생하지 않고 액화 가스 용기가 그 장치 본체의 제 2 단부 위의 수준까지 채워지는 것을 허용하기 때문에 유리하다.
