PURPOSE: A device and method for control for a refrigerator with quick freezing and thawing system are provided to perform proper freezing and thawing algorithm corresponding to input from a user and temperature condition of the sealed pan. CONSTITUTION: A device and method for control for a refrigerator with quick freezing and thawing system(160) comprises an electronic controller coupled to the operable components of a modular air adjuster(162) for producing a convective air stream in a sealed pan(122) for rapid cooling and safe thawing. The controller is configured to operate the air adjuster to execute a freezing mode when selected by a user, operate the air adjuster to execute a thawing mode when selected by a user, adjust the air adjuster components for the selected freezing mode or thawing mode, and maintain the constant temperature air stream in the pan to execute the selected freezing mode or the thawing mode. Adaptive freezing and thawing algorithm is executable by the controller in response to user input and temperature conditions inside the sealed pan.
