Summary:PURPOSE: To provide a picture processing method for easily obtaining a picture which is photographed from the front even when reading the picture on the front surface of a three-dimensional shape such as a folded slip or a thick book. CONSTITUTION: A contour is extracted from original information read by a camera, vertex information is detected from the contour information, a distance between the camera and an original is measured by vertex information and known original shape information and, then, correction is performed to develop folded original information into plane information by the distance information and vertex information.
