Summary:PURPOSE: To reduce sticking of spray on a wall surface to be a problem when injected fuel is atomized and to improve quality and forming states of gaseous mixture within a cylinder of a port injection lean burn engine. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a fuel injection valve 1, an intake valve 6 for opening/closing an intake port and an intake flow control device 10 disposed on an upstream side of the intake valve 6. By making injected fuel as low penetration spray when the engine is low load/low rotation and making injected fuel as high penetration spray when the engine is high load/high rotation, sticking of spray on the wall surface is suppressed by performing injection by synchronizing with an intake stroke of the engine and carrying injected fuel by air flow flowing from the intake flow control device 10.
