Summary:PURPOSE: A quick plastic forming method of aluminum alloy sheet metal is provided to enable the practical production of robust automobile body panels and the like of complex shape and highly strained regions. CONSTITUTION: The quick plastic forming method is used to stretch magnesium-containing aluminum alloy sheet stock into intricate shapes required in automotive body panels. The sheet stock, at a temperature in the range of about 400deg.C. to about 510deg.C., is stretched under the pressure of a working gas into conformance with the surface of a forming tool. The sheet forming pressure is increased continually in a controlled manner from ambient pressure to a final forming level in the range of about 250psi to about 500psi or higher. A portion of the sheet can experience strain rates substantially higher than 10-3 sec-1 and the forming of the sheet can be completed within 12 minutes. 본 발명은 마그네슘 함유 알루미늄 합금 시트 재료를 자동차의 차체 패널에서 요구되는 것과 같은 복잡한 형상으로 스트레치하는 방법을 개시한다. 상기 시트 재료(44)는 약 400℃에서 약 510℃이하 범위의 온도에서 가공가스의 압력하에 성형툴(40, 42)의 표면에 일치하도록 스트레치 된다. 상기 시트의 성형압력은 주위압력으로 부터 약 250psi에서 약 500psi 범위내 또는 그 이상의 최종성형단계까지 제어방식에 의해 연속적으로 증가된다. 시트의 일부분은 10sec보다 실질적은 높은 변형속도를 경험하여 12분내에 성형이 완료될 수 있다.
