Summary:PURPOSE: To solve the problem that each phosphor (light emitting body) does not have a constant luminescence ratio to each light emitting frequency, therefore, even if white balance is adjusted at a prescribed luminescence frequency, the white balance loses its balance when luminescence frequency changes. CONSTITUTION: This display device performs displaying in color by controlling luminescence frequency or intensity corresponding to the inputted plural original color video signals R, G, B, and is configured to comprise a means 3 for detecting the luminescence frequency or intensity, and means 11-13 for correcting the white balance by adjusting the amplitudes of the plural original color video signals according to the detected luminescence frequency or intensity.
