PURPOSE: A plasma picture screen with UV light emitting layer is provided to achieve an improved luminance. CONSTITUTION: A UV light emitting layer(8) is provided on the front plate(1), which comprises a glass plate(3) on which a dielectric layer(4) and a protective layer(5) are provided, or on the carrier plate(2) with the phosphor(10). The layer(8) comprises a VUV phosphor which converts the VUV light of the plasma discharge into UV light with a wavelength between 200 and 350 nm and emits this in the direction of the phosphor layer(10). 본 발명은 플라즈마 화상 스크린(plasma picture screen)에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로는 향상된 휘도(luminance)를 갖는 동일평면 배열(coplanar arrangement)의 AC 플라즈마 화상 스크린에 관한 것이다. UV 광 방출층(8)은 유전층(dielectric layer)(4)과 보호층(protective layer)(5)이 제공되는 유리 플레이트(3)를 포함하는 전면 플레이트(1)에 제공되고, 또는 인광체 층(phosphor layer)(10)을 갖는 운반체 플레이트(carrier plate)(2)에 제공된다. 상기 층(8)은 플라즈마 방전의 VUV 광을 200과 350nm 사이의 파장을 갖는 UV 광으로 변환시키고, 변환된 UV 광을 인광체 층(10)의 방향으로 방출시키는 VUV 인광체를 포함한다.
