Summary:PURPOSE: A dish washer is provided to prevent re-contamination of dishes and to completely removing food remnants sticking on the dishes by improving structure. CONSTITUTION: A dish washer includes a first washing unit connected to a washing tub(22) to wash dishes by sucking the washing water from the washing tub and spraying the washing water to the dishes, a second washing unit washing the dishes by oscillating ultrasonic waves in the washing tub, and a drain unit(29) for draining contaminated water after washing. Upon selection of a special washing mode, ultrasonic waves are oscillated and food remnants stuck on the dishes are completely removed by the ultrasonic waves and cavitation occurring in the washing water due to the ultrasonic waves.
