Summary:PURPOSE: Lubricating composition for cylinders of marine two-stroke diesel engines is provided, which raises temperature of the onset of scuffing-type mechanical wear of the cylinder walls of the engine during its operation. CONSTITUTION: A combination of a cylinder of a two-stroke cross-head marine diesel engine with a cylinder lubricant comprises: a base stock of lubricating viscosity, in a major amount; at least one overbased metal detergent, in a minor amount; and at least one auxiliary, preferably ashless or non-metal-containing, additive component, in a minor amount, and an oil-soluble sulfur-containing compound, and/or an oil-soluble phosphorus-containing compound, wherein the cylinder is characterized by a power output of 4000 or greater, such as 4200 or greater, referably 4500 or greater, more preferably in the range of 4500 to 6000, kW. The bore of the cylinder may, for example, be 850 or greater, such as 900 or greater, preferably in the range of 900 to 1000cm. 본 발명은, 윤활 점도의 베이스스톡(basestock), 과염기화된 금속성 세정제 및 유용성 황-함유 화합물 또는 인-함유 화합물을 포함하는 실린더 윤활제에 의해 윤활되고, 이로써 실린더 벽의 스커핑형(scuffing-type) 기계적 마모의 개시 온도를 상승시키는, 4,000kW/실린더 이상의 출력을 특징으로 하는 2행정 크로스헤드 선박용 디젤 엔진의 실린더에 관한 것이다.
