Summary:PURPOSE: To provide an IC card capable of intensifying electrostatic destruction prevention to a semiconductor integrated circuit chip without increasing the cost of it. CONSTITUTION: This card has the semiconductor integrated circuit chip 2 on a card substrate 1 and exposes a plurality of connection terminals 3. The connection terminals are connected to a prescribed external terminal 4 of the semiconductor integrated circuit chip, 1st overvoltage protective elements 7 to 9 connected to the external terminal are integrated on the semiconductor integrated circuit chip, and a 2nd overvoltage protective element, e.g. a surface mounting type varistor 11 is mounted on the card substrate. The varistor is a variable resistance element having current allowable capability surpassing the 1st overvoltage protective element. Because the relation to the characteristic and capability of the 1st overvoltage protective element included in the semiconductor integrated circuit chip is taken into consideration in the varistor, it is possible to easily make an electrostatic destruction prevention effect due to it effective.
