CONSTITUTION: In the method of changing the discarding threshold value of a viterbi decoding device, in step (401), the communication load is detected. In step (402), the load is compared with the reference. If larger, in step (403), the discarding threshold value(T) is reduced. If smaller, in step (404), the discarding threshold value(T) is increased. In step (405), the bit error rate(BER) is detected. In step (406), the BER is compared with the reference. If larger, in step (407), the discarding threshold value(T) is increased. If smaller, in step (408), the discarding threshold value(T) is decreased.
