Summary:PURPOSE: An apparatus for providing a radio mobile Internet service using a radio modem and a city phone base station is provided to implement a PCM-CIA radio modem which provides a city phone common connection interface, install the same in a notebook, use the construction from an existing city phone network to a base station and PSTN network, separate a data signal in a previous block of a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) switch which is a start point of a PSTN network, transmit an Internet gateway unit(IGU) and transfer a data signal to an Internet network. CONSTITUTION: A radio modem(10) includes an RS-232 interface unit(11) for communicating with a central processing unit(CPU) of a notebook, a modulator(12) and a demodulator(13) for modulating and demodulating the data packet passed through the RS-232 interface unit(11), and a radio data transceiver(14) for supporting CT2-CAI which transfers the modulated/demodulated packet to the base station. The packet data receiver(20) of the base station includes a radio data transceiver(21) of the base station for receiving a signal from the radio data transceiver(14), a modulator(22) and a demodulator(23) for modulating and demodulating the data packet of the notebook terminal connected through the radio data transceiver(21), an Internet gateway unit(24) for transferring data inputted through the modulator/demodulator(22, 23) and separated by the PSTN switch of the PSTN network.
