Summary: | PURPOSE: A sealed battery and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent connection failure of the battery and extend the life cycle thereof by improving physical contact between outer most electrode of an electrode group and a can. CONSTITUTION: The sealed battery comprises an electrode group consisting of a cathode(2), an anode(4) and a separator(6); and an inward protrusion(102) formed on the inner wall of the case, wherein the inward protrusion is physically contacted with the electrode as pressing an electrode which is arranged at the outer most wall of the electrode group(8). The method for manufacturing the sealed battery comprises the steps of winding a cathode(2), an anode(4) and a separator(6), thereby forming an electrode group(8) so that the anode is arranged at the outer most wall of the electrode group; carrying the electrode group into the inside of the cylindrical can(100) and forming a beading part(104) on the upper side of the electrode group; forming an inward protrusion(102) by beading the cylindrical can of the lower side of the beading part; infusing an electrolyte into the can(100); and sealing the battery after installing a cap assembly(12) by interposing a gasket(14) at the upper side of the inner circumferential surface of the beading part(104), and welding the cap assembly(12) to a terminal tap lead-out from the cathode of the electrode group. |
