Summary:PURPOSE: To provide an elevator guide device capable of effectively restraining swinging of an elevator cage, improving riding comfortability, miniaturizing a device structure and simplifying it. CONSTITUTION: Position detection means 8a, 8b, 8c detect a positional relation of an optical path of coherent light and a moving body by receiving the coherent light roughly in parallel with a guide rail which luminescent means 6a, 6b, 6c form, actuators 15a, 15b, 15c, etc., apply force on guide rails 2, 2 in accordance with output of the position detection means and they change a position or an attitude of the moving body 4 by its reaction force at the time of elevating the moving body 4 along the guide rails 2, 2. Consequently, positional correction against swinging of the moving body 4 is carried out from dislocation of the moving body 4 against the optical path formed by the luminescent means to be a positional standard, and force of an antiphase against its swinging and irregular point is made to work on the guide rails 2, 2' at the time when the moving body comes to the irregular point 80 of the guide rails 2, 2' previously provided by test travelling.
