Summary:PURPOSE: To improve fluctuation in beams on the entrance end and exit end of a crystal holding device in which a crystal is used at an increased temp. than the room temp. and to improve the stability of the beam position. CONSTITUTION: Hollow tubes 5, 5' are attached to the exit side and entrance side of a CLBO crystal 1 to decrease the temp. difference between the both ends of the hollow tubes 5, 5' and the ambient atmospheric temp. Thereby, fluctuation in air near the ends is prevented to improve the stability of the beams. Or, instead of the hollow tubes, filled members such as quartz rods having high transparency for the wavelength of laser beams can be used. Moreover, a cooling device may be disposed at the both ends of the hollow tubes or filled members so that the temp. of the end part is cooled to near the ambient temp.
