Summary: | PURPOSE: A plasma display device is provided to improve the light emitting efficiency by forming at least one micro hole in the electrode. CONSTITUTION: When a driving voltage is applied to a first electrode(32) and a second electrode(42)(or a third electrode(44)) at an addressing step, an addressing discharge is generated and volume charges are accumulated on dielectric layers(34,46). A hollow cathode discharge is generated during the addressing discharge and a plurality of electrons are accumulated on the dielectric layers(34,46). When a driving voltage is applied to the second electrode(42) and the third electrode(44) during the sustaining period, a sustaining discharge is generated and a plurality of electrons are accumulated inside a discharge cell by the hollow cathode discharge. So, the electron density become increased. Micro holes(50a,50b) are formed in the second electrode(42) and the third electrode(44). The micro holes(50a,50b) generate the hollow cathode discharge so that the light emitting efficiency of a plasma display element is improved. |
