Summary:PURPOSE: A rubber composition for a steel cord of pneumatic tires by using a mixture of N-1,3-dimethylbutyl-N'-p-phenylenediamine and 1,3-bis-citraconeimidomethylbenzene is provided which can improve heat resistance aging property of rubber. CONSTITUTION: In a rubber composition for coating a steel cord of pneumatic tires, a mixture of N-1,3-dimethylbutyl-N'-p-phenylenediamine and 1,3-bis-citraconeimidomethylbenzene in a weight ratio of 2 : 1 is added based on 100 parts by weight of natural. The N-1,3-dimethylbutyl-N'-p-phenylenediamine plays as a radical scavenger for removing radicals. The composition can minimize the truncation of a main chain by removing radicals generated by heat during running of tires and improve heat resistance aging property of rubber.
