PURPOSE: A system and method for searching geometric information using a time is provided for classifying a routing information from a user's current position to a certain destination based on a moving unit by time. CONSTITUTION: In a system and method for searching geometric information using a time, a user(130) is connected with a web server(101) of a geometric information system server(100) through an internet network(120) using a service requesting unit for thereby inputting a certain information needed by the geometric information system server(100). A geometric information system engine(102) of the geometric information system server(100) extracts information needed for the geometric information database(103) based on the information inputted by the user and processes as the time-based routing information to the destination based on the moving unit of the user and transfers to the web server(101). 본 발명은 사용자의 현재 위치에서 이동수단에 따른 불특정 목적지까지의 경로정보를 시간대별로 분류하여 제공하는 지리정보 검색 방법 및 그 시스템에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 의한 지리정보 검색 방법의 특징은 사용자가 지리정보 시스템 서버의 웹서버에 접속하여 서버의 지리정보 검색 작업에 필요한 데이터를 입력하고 원하는 목적지까지 이르는 경로 정보를 요청하는 제 1단계; 상기 사용자 입력 데이터를 웹서버로부터 전달받은 후, 지리정보시스템 엔진부에서 사용자의 현재 위치를 확인하는 제 2단계; 사용자의 현재 위치 확인이 이루어지면, 지리정보 시스템 서버의 데이터베이스로부터 사용자가 요청한 주변지역의 정보리스트를 추출하는 제 3단계; 주변지역의 정보리스트가 추출되면 상기 사용자 입력 데이터로부터 이동수단이 무엇인지 판단하는 제 4단계; 제 4단계의 판단결과에 따라 선택된 이동수단 속도를 이용하여, 지리정보시스템 엔진부에서 상기 사용자 현재 위치로부터 상기 추출된 지역까지의 이동 소요시간을 연산하는 제 5단계; 및 상기 결과로 나온 지역정보와 이동 소요시간을 상기 웹서버를 통해 정보를 요청한 사용자에게 전달하는 제 6단계를 포함하여 이루어지는데 있다.
