PURPOSE: A method for retrieving multi media information by using a computer is provided to retrieve the multi media information by storing acknowledgment information according to the user's using, and by intuitively displaying retrieving system characteristics related to characteristic information contents and characteristic information. CONSTITUTION: A method for retrieving multi media information by using a computer comprises the steps of: being inputted query data by a user; operating a similarity degree each specific gravity of featuring elements for the query data, and illustratively displaying retrieved storing data after retrieving the storing data with a high similarity degree in a database; selectively designating illustrated data, and inputting specific gravity data of featuring elements by being consulted the storing data by a user; and operating the similarity degree on the basis of the specific gravity data of featuring elements and the illustrated data, and displaying the retrieved storing data as a retrieving result after retrieving the storing data with the high similarity degree in the database.
