PURPOSE: A cellular phone having compressing, recording, and playing music files, is provided to compress, record, and play music files. CONSTITUTION: A cellular phone having compressing, recording, and playing music files, comprises a digital signal processor(61), a compressor/restorer, transceiver(67), a user interface, and an audio output(69). The digital signal processor(61) samples an audio supplied from an external recorder/player at a bit rate to be compressed, or an audio signal received via an e-mail, convert into a digital signal so as to enable to compressed at a requested rate, and converts the sampled audio signal into an analog audio signal. The compressor/restorer compresses the sampled audio signal according to a compress protocol, to convert into music files, or reads compressed music files stored in an internal or external storage, to restore the sampled audio signal. The user interface executes recording/playing function of music files having a specific compression rate. The audio output(69) plays the music files having the specific compression rate, amplifies an audio signal played by the music files, to output the amplified signal in a audible type.
