Summary: | PURPOSE: A catalyst system to polymerize C2-C12-alk-1-ene is provided to make a C2-C12-alk-1-ene polymer having a narrow molar mass distribution. CONSTITUTION: Catalyst systems for the polymerization of C2 to C12 alk-1-enes containing(A) an inorganic carrier, (B) at least one metallocene complex, (C) at least one metallocenium ion-forming compound and (D) possibly at least one metal compound of an alkaline or alkaline earth metal or a metal of the third main group of the periodic system, in which the inorganic carrier is an inorganic oxide having a pH of 1 to 6 and contains hollows and channels, of which the proportionate total macroscopic volume in the whole particle is in the range from 5 to 30 %.
