Summary:PURPOSE: A compound prepared by reaction of alkyl oxide with aliphatic cyclic ester or aliphatic cyclic diester in supplying carbon dioxide is provided which has an environmental affinity because of its (bio)degradability and reuse of carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION: The compound(I) having a molecular weight of 500-5 times 10¬6 is manufactured by adding a mixture of alkyl oxide(A) and one compound selected from aliphatic cyclic ester(B) and aliphatic cyclic diester(C) in the molar ratio of A to B of 3:7-7:3 to a polymerization catalyst such as zinc glutarate, and copolymerizing the reaction mixture in supplying carbon dioxide. In the formula(I), A is -(CH2)n- or -CHR4COO-; R1,R2,R3, and R4 are H or C1-C30 alkyl; n is 1-10; x, y and z are 1-10¬6. Alkyl oxide(A) is ethylene oxide or propylene oxide, aliphatic cyclic ester(B) is epsilon-caprolactam, delta-valerolactam, and beta-butyrolactone or beta-propiolactone, aliphatic cyclic diester(C) is glycolide or lactide. 본 발명은 화학식 1로 표시되는 폴리(카보네이트-에스테르) 및 그 제조방법을 개시한다. 상기식중, R, R, R및 R는 서로에 관계없이 수소 원자 또는 C∼C알킬기이고, n은 1 내지 10의 정수이며, x, y 그리고 z은 서로에 관계없이 1 내지 10의 정수이다. 본 발명의 화학식 1로 표시되는 폴리(카보네이트-에스테르)는 분해 가능성이 높기 때문에 환경친화적인 고분자이며, 이는 의료 분야 등을 비롯한 여러 가지 분야에 폭넓게 사용가능하다. 또한 이 고분자는 이산화탄소를 단량체로 이용하고 있기 때문에 이산화탄소의 재활용을 통하여 이산화탄소에 의한 대기오염 및 기후 변화 현상을 억제시킬 수 있는 효과를 갖고 있다.
