A disclosed automatic exchange device for a film-type material for a secondary battery comprises: a chucking unit which exchanges a supplying roll imminently running out of film-type materials supplied to a secondary battery manufacturing facility with a new roll and grips the same; a cutting unit which, when the film-type material supplied from the supplying roll is imminent to run out, adsorbs and grips a back surface of the film-type material to cut the same to form an end portion, and adsorbs and grips the cut film-type material of the supplying roll having the end portion formed; an exchange unit which withdraws the supplying roll having the film-type material cut by the cutting unit and enters a new roll having a film-type material, to be connected to the end portion of the film-type material of the supplying roll adsorbed and gripped by the cutting unit, wound thereto; and a connection unit which guides an edge portion of the film-type material of the new roll entered to the end portion of the cut film-type material of the supplying roll adsorbed and gripped by the cutting unit by medium of a tape cut piece to connect the same.
