Summary:Disclosed are a device and a method for forecasting a surf index. The method for forecasting a surf index comprises the steps of: collecting surfable point information, and marine and weather forecast information; extracting a plurality of indicator values for each surfable point in a forecast target area for a plurality of preset indicators from the collected surfable point information, and marine and weather forecast information; calculating a score for each of the indicators according to a preset score standard for each indicator using the plurality of extracted indicator values for each surfable point; applying a preset weight for each indicator to the calculated score for each of the indicators, and calculating the average of scores for each of the indicators having weights applied thereto as a surf index; and forecasting the calculated surf index and a level corresponding to the surf index. Therefore, surf information can be provided to enable a user to make an effective surfing plan and to enable comfortable and safe surfing. 서핑지수 예보 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 서핑지수 예보 방법은, 서핑가능 포인트 정보, 해양 및 기상 예측 정보를 수집하는 단계, 수집된 서핑가능 포인트 정보, 해양 및 기상 예측 정보로부터 미리 설정된 복수의 지표에 대하여 예보대상 지역의 서핑가능 포인트별 복수의 지표값을 추출하는 단계, 추출된 서핑가능 포인트별 복수의 지표값을 이용하여 미리 설정된 지표별 점수기준에 따라 지표별 점수를 산출하는 단계, 산출된 지표별 점수에 각각 미리 설정된 지표별 가중치를 적용하고, 가중치가 적용된 지표별 점수의 평균을 서핑지수로 산출하는 단계 및 산출된 서핑지수 및 서핑지수에 대응하는 등급을 예보하는 단계를 포함한다.
