The present invention relates to a water meter and, more specifically, to a digital counter (100) of the water meter (A), which measures and displays a water usage flow rate measured by a body part (10) of the water meter, wherein the digital counter comprises: a measurement unit (110) which measures the usage flow rate according to the rotation of an impeller of the water meter (A); a display unit (130) which distinguishes and displays the flow rate measured by the measurement unit (110) into a main digit (131) displaying the flow rate in ton units and a sub digit (132) displaying the flow rate in liter units, wherein the main digit (131) is displayed with large numbers and the sub digit (132) is displayed with smaller numbers; and a communication unit (140) which transmits the usage flow rate measured by the measurement unit (110) to external terminals (300, 400). The display unit (130) only displays the main digit (131), not the sub digit (132), when communication between the digital counter (100) of the water meter and the external terminals (300, 400) for transmitting measurement data is smooth, and displays both the main digit (131) and the sub digit (132) when communication between the digital counter (100) of the water meter and the external terminals (300, 400) for transmitting measurement data is not smooth. Therefore, the digital counter of the water meter can reduce the maintenance cost of the water meter, prevent misunderstandings regarding the water usage amount by a user, and reduce battery consumption. 본 발명은 수도미터에 관한 것으로, 수도미터의 본체(10)에서 측정한 수돗물의 사용 유량을 계측하여 표시하는 수도미터(A)의 디지털 카운터(100)에 있어서, 수도미터(A)의 익차의 회전에 따른 사용 유량을 계측하는 계측부(110)와, 계측부(110)가 계측한 유량을 유량을 톤 단위로 표시하는 메인 디지트(131)와 리터 단위로 표시하는 서브 디지트(132)로 구분하여 표시하고, 메인 디지트(131)는 큰 숫자로 표시하고 서브 디지트(132)는 작은 숫자로 구분하여 표시하는 표시부(130)와, 계측부(110)에서 계측된 사용 유량을 외부의 단말기(300,400)로 전송하는 통신부(140)를 포함하여 구성되고, 표시부(130)는, 수도미터의 디지털 카운터(100)가 외부의 단말기(300,400)와의 계측량의 전송을 위한 통신이 원활한 경우에는 서브 디지트(132)는 표시하지 않고 메인 디지트(131)만을 표시하고, 수도미터의 디지털 카운터(100)가 외부의 단말기(300,400)와의 계측량의 전송을 위한 통신이 원활하지 않는 경우에는 메인 디지트(131)와 서브 디지트(132)를 모두 표시하는 것을 특징으로 하고, 이에 의하면 수도미터의 유지 관리 비용을 절감할 수 있고 이용자의 수도물 사용량 오해를 예방하고 배터리 소모를 줄일 수 있는 이점이 있다.
