Provided is a method for performing a protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment procedure in an LTE network according as a terminal performs handover from a 5^th generation (5G) network to a long term evolution (LTE) network. The present method comprises the following steps of: transmitting a first session establishment request message from an LTE base station to a mobility management entity (MME); transmitting information about an IP address of a PGW-U to be allocated for PDU session establishment in a core access and mobility management function (AMF) to the MME; forwarding a second session establishment request message from the MME to an SMF/SPGW-C, wherein the second session establishment request message includes information about the IP address of the PGW-U; determining an IP address of an SGW-U to be allocated for the PDU session establishment based on the IP address of the PGW-U in the SMF/SPGW-C; and forwarding a third session establishment request message from the SMF/SPGW-C to a UPF/SPGW-U identified by the IP address of the PGW-U, wherein the third session establishment request message includes information about the IP address of the PGW-U and the determined IP address of the SGW-U. 단말이 5G(5th Generation) 망에서 LTE(Long Term Evolution) 망으로 핸드오버를 수행함에 따라 LTE 망에서 PDU(Protocol Data Unit) 세션 생성 절차를 수행하는 방법이 제공된다. 본 방법은, LTE 기지국에서 MME(Mobility Management Entity)로 제1 세션 생성 요청(session establishment request) 메시지를 전달하는 단계, AMF(Core Access and Mobility Management Function)에서 PDU 세션 생성을 위해 할당될 PGW-U의 IP 주소에 관한 정보를 상기 MME로 전달하는 단계, 상기 MME에서 SMF/SPGW-C로 제2 세션 생성 요청 메시지를 전달하는 단계 - 상기 제2 세션 생성 요청 메시지는 상기 PGW-U의 IP 주소에 관한 정보를 포함함 -, 상기 SMF/SPGW-C에서 상기 PGW-U의 IP 주소에 기초하여 상기 PDU 세션 생성을 위해 할당될 SGW-U의 IP 주소를 결정하는 단계, 및 상기 SMF/SPGW-C에서 상기 PGW-U의 IP 주소에 의해 식별되는 UPF/SPGW-U로 제3 세션 생성 요청 메시지를 전달하는 단계 - 상기 제3 세션 생성 요청 메시지는 상기 PGW-U의 IP 주소 및 상기 결정된 SGW-U의 IP 주소에 관한 정보를 포함함 - 를 포함할 수 있다.
