The present invention is to provide an electronic device and an operating method thereof that can improve ease of mosaic processing. According to one embodiment, there is provided a method of operating a server, comprising a step of providing an interface for uploading an image and editing an image to an electronic device when the electronic device is connected to a server, wherein the interface includes a screen for playing an image and a plurality of menus for editing an image; a step of, when an image captured by the electronic device is uploaded on the interface, acquiring the uploaded image; a step of, when a menu for mosaic processing of the image is selected from the plurality of menus on the interface, identifying a plurality of objects included in the image and identifying first objects of a type selected by the electronic device from the plurality of identified objects, wherein the selected type includes at least one of a sign, a signboard, a vehicle license plate, and a human face; a step of performing mosaic processing on first areas of the identified first objects and displaying a notice indicating that mosaic processing has been performed on the image displayed on the interface; and a step of, when an object for the image including the mosaic-processed first areas on the interface, storing the image, wherein the stored image is registered to an image sharing server according to a request received from the electronic device.
