The present invention relates to a wakeup radio system and a method based on a backscatter wakeup radio. The wakeup radio method based on a backscatter wakeup radio according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: receiving a beacon signal from a data collection device and setting an arbitrary reception window section in a window setting section; transmitting a backscatter response message to the data collection device based on the reception time of the contention signal received from the data collection device in the set reception window section; and receiving, in the data transmission section, a wakeup signal from the data collection device, setting the wakeup signal as a wakeup section, and transmitting data to the data collection device based on a scheduling time according to the backscatter response message. 본 발명은 백스캐터 웨이크업 라디오 기반 웨이크업 라디오 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 백스캐터 웨이크업 라디오 기반 웨이크업 라디오 방법은, 데이터 수집 장치로부터 비컨 신호를 수신하여 윈도우 설정 구간에서 임의의 수신 윈도우 구간을 설정하는 단계, 상기 윈도우 설정 구간에서, 상기 설정된 수신 윈도우 구간에서 상기 데이터 수집 장치로부터 수신된 경쟁 신호의 수신 시점을 기반으로 상기 데이터 수집 장치에 백스캐터 응답 메시지를 전송하는 단계, 및 데이터 전송 구간에서, 상기 데이터 수집 장치로부터 웨이크업 신호를 수신하여 웨이크업 구간으로 설정하고, 상기 백스캐터 응답 메시지에 따른 스케줄링 시점을 기반으로 상기 데이터 수집 장치에 데이터를 전송하는 단계를 포함한다.
